Practical tips

For selecting the degree of hardness, note the following:

The Liebenzeller Metal Rosin is produced in the hardness I (hard) – VI (soft

            • For Violin I and II
            • for Viola II + III
            • for Cello III + IV f
            • or Double Bass V und VI

Basically: for solo playing the harder of the two specified hardness is preferred!

Before the first application of Liebenzeller Metal Rosin we recommend:

Clean your bow with a soft cloth and apply initially to little rosin!

Likewise, if you apply another rosin varieties - so the difference is apparent.

Find the right rosin:

In order to be able to find the rosin suitable for the respective instrument from the offered varieties, a test set with three test pieces is offered in the shop.

With this offer I would like to encourage you to test the different qualities of sound and thus to further develop the sound experience of the timbre.

Please consider the "individuality" of your instrument for good results!

The set will be put together according to your individual wishes - as far as these pieces are available. Please specify the desired varieties on the "Cashier" page in the "Additional Info" box. At present the following varieties are available as test pieces:

  • Gold
  • Silber
  • Meteor-Eisen
  • Kupfer
  • Please ask for gemstone rosin
